Creative tourism at the World Travel Market

London, November, 6th-8th

As every year, the Creative Tourism Network® (CTN) will be present at the World Travel Market in London in order to promote the creative tourism destinations and platforms that are part of the network, as well as to organize our annual round-table.

This year, it will be held on November 7th (please find the information below) and will deal with the creative tourism, a lever for the territorial development.

It will be an honor to count on the participation of Mr. Peter DebrineSenior Project Officer of UNESCO World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism programme, Mrs. Carol Hay, Director of Marketing of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, (CTO), the CTN will be represented by Caroline Couret, and the session will be moderated by Rajan Datar, well known for his reports on BBC Travel Show  especially  focused on experiential tourism.

And last but not least, the Creative Tourism Awards we be will announced in this occasion!

Regional Conference on Tourism in MENA Cities:

Competitiveness for Sustainable Growth

Amman, Jordania, November 13th-14th

The director of the Creative Tourism Network(R) will intervene in a round-table and will conduct a specific workshop within the Regional Conference on Tourism in MENA Cities: Competitiveness for Sustainable Growth, organized in Amman next November 13th - 14th, under the auspices of the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) , in collaboration with the Greater Amman Municipality and Lawrence & Husseini Consult, and with the technical support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The Conference will mainly provide a clear understanding and a shared vision on:

• An integrated approach to policy making, legislative framework and  governance in urban tourism destinations in the MENA region.

• Improving transparency, knowledge, professionalism, productivity, infrastructure, connectivity, innovation and technology to achieve competitiveness in MENA cities.

• The UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, a comprehensive framework for achieving responsible and sustainable tourism for development in destinations.

Cultural tourism industry in Creative Cities Conference

Jinju, Korea, November 17th

The director of the Creative Tourism Network(R) will lecture within the Cultural tourism industry in Creative Cities Conference,  to be held in the City Hall of Jinju (Korea), next November 17th.

The conference is co-organized by Jinju City, the Committee of Jinju for promoting UNESCO Creative Network in Craft & Folkart and the Jinju Culture Research Institute.

The City of Jinju is well known for its intangible heritage and more especially the Craft and Folkart which represents a great potential to develop the creative tourism.

CTN participation at España Creativa Forum  

Melilla, Spain, October, 25th-29th

The director of the Creative Tourism Network® participated in a round-table on “Creative Industries as software for the Creative Tourism”, within the forum España Creativa, held in Melilla last October 25th-29th.

This annual meeting, organized by the Spanish Creative Cities network gathered international experts in any aspect related to the creativity and offered a very exhaustive program, including creative experiences and a competition of innovative projects. Congratulations to you all!

Workshop on management of the creative tourism 

Toulouse Business School – Barcelona

Last October 11th, the director of the  Creative Tourism Network® conducted a Workshop on Management of the Creative Tourism within the Master of Management program, professional option Tourism and Services Management of the Toulouse Business School – Barcelona. 

The twenteeth french students of the Master demonstrated their creativity in designing tourism projects, reflecting  the philosophy of the school: “Think & Create”!

Visit Empordanet (Catalonia), presented last October 25th its catalog of handicrafts  - available in four languages -  that  includes a directory of 45 accredited artisans of arts and crafts that propose trade and for most of them, creative tourism experiences.
