From June 1 to 11, 2023 saw the second edition of UPERNOIR, the cultural festival organized by Pas-de-Calais Tourisme that invites visitors to explore the region’s rich heritage through the prism of the color black, characteristic of its identity.

Focusing this year on culinary delights, as the Hauts-de-France has been named European Region of Gastronomy for 2023, the festival featured some unusual dinners as well as a range of creative workshops in which visitors to the Autour du Louvre-Lens destination could take part: roasting workshops, a transhumance with goats on the slag heaps, Raku enameling and dyeing workshops, and more.
UPERNOIR is also an opportunity to initiate creative projects that will develop throughout the year.
