Casa Agave (Quito), awarded Best Creative Experience for the Americas at FITUR

The winners of the 11th edition of the Creative Tourism Awards have just been announced!

Created by the Creative Tourism Network®, the Creative Tourism Awards aim to reward companies, projects, and destinations from around the world that promote creative tourism, a new generation of tourism, characterized by the active participation of tourists in artistic and creative activities.

The international members of the jury had the difficult task of selecting the winners from various modalities, among 192 applications, all of them demonstrating a high level of creativity, authenticity, and sustainability.

The award for Best Creative Experience for the Americas was awarded to Casa Agave (Agave’s House) an innovative project, supported by Quito Tourism, that allows travelers – as well as locals – to (re)discover the agave, as part of the intangible heritage.

The award was delivered by the director of the Creative Tourism Network®, Caroline Couret, to Diego Mora, founder of Casa  Agave, and in the presence of Mrs. María Belén Heredia, Marketing Director of Quito Turismo.

The jury has highlighted the experiential format of the activities proposed by  Casa Agave, which completes its museum activity with participatory workshops, tastings, and above all, co-creation throughout the production process.

The Jury also valued very positively the value chain created at the local level by  Casa Agave, involving and empowering actors from different sectors.

Caroline Couret highlighted “the high social value of the experiences designed by Casa de Agave and the attractiveness for both domestic and international tourism, which represents added value to a destination like Quito, certified CreativeFriendlyDestination by the Creative Tourism Network®.”

As it could not be otherwise, the awards ceremony gave rise to a successful Agave tasting for the numerous professionals present at the impressive Ecuador stand, also awarded by the FITUR organization!
