Saint-Jean-Port-Joli launches an exclusive creative tourism offer for the summer season!

This summer, Saint-Jean-Port-Joli – Village créatif and Destination Région L’Islet invite you to experience their exclusive Escapades! The Escapades offer 8 gourmet and creative experiences where local artisans welcome visitors for a special day to share their know-how, show them behind the scenes of their craft and share their passion and knowledge!

On the program: learn how to make bread from the grain stage by transforming flour in the authentic Seigneurie des Aulnaies mill, or pick wild flowers and learn how to compose a bouquet with the Saint-Jean-Fleurs-Jolies tour!

These exclusive offers are complemented by creative packages at La Marie-Simonne agritourism B&B, including workshops in Italian cooking, yoga by the river, herbalism, painting and grape harvesting.

The Musée de la mémoire vivante (Living Memory Museum) is also offering a summer-long creative tourism workshop, where participants can revive the tradition of the “love spoon” by learning a local skill: direct wood carving.

Another must: take the Pretty Creative Bicycles for a tour of the region’s boutiques and artists’ studios. Two places to visit are Le Vivoir, where you won’t want to miss watching artists at work in their studios, and the Galerie-atelier of artist Nicole Deschênes Duval, which also offers the creative workshop Vivre la sculpture.

Last but not least, the list wouldn’t be complete without a host of festivities and festivals: the Festival du Bûcheux, the chants des marins and the Fleuve Espace danse show, Guitares en Fête, Sable & Glace L’Islet, the Semaine du Patrimoine, the Festival du Poulet and the play “Bébé à bord” at the Théâtre d’été de la Roche à Veillon.
