Upcoming Creative Tourism events in Quebec

Next June 14th – 21st, the Creative Tourism Network® will participate in a serie of events organized in different creative destinations of Quebec, namely the Magdalen Islands, The Laurentides Region, and Montreal.

It is no coincidence that the Creative Tourism Network® will visit the Îles de la Madeleine (Magdalen Islands) on June 14th to promote its outstanding “Creative Friendly” offer.

Not only is this type of tourism saluted for its positive effects on off-season activities, but it was also successfully integrated to its offer as a resort town by the Madelinot archipelago. Creative tourists who visit the islands throughout the year will be able to discover local culture and appreciate its uniqueness by participating to creative workshops with local artists and craftspeople.
The islands give both aspiring artists and curious minds the most diverse means of expression – between raku ceramic making, soap making, glassblowing, gastronomy courses and alpaca knitting workshops, there is plenty of choice and all the activities are as high-quality as they are unique.

Since they have been awarded the Best Strategy for Creative Tourism Development for the 2015 Creative Tourism Awards©, the Îles de la Madeleine asserted themselves as a destination of choice for creative tourism.

Indeed, in addition to their undeniable natural assets and mesmerizing landscapes, they also have all the qualities that make a destination both attractive for tourisms and exemplary for sustainable development, through its tourism cluster in an island environment that aims to boost the competitiveness of tourism businesses in the area.

The islands’ DNA, their traditions and the collaborative and friendly nature of the Madelinots is reflected in their program of creative activities, which aims to make tourism an all-year-long activity in Quebec.

A program of workshops, meetings and showcases will enable to expand such a good work, internationaly.

A good work that already inspires new destinations on the continent – the Créneau d’Excellence – Tourisme de villégiature 4 saisons and Laurentides Tourism, situated in the Laurentides, a short flight away from Montreal, will organize an event on creative tourism on June 19th. This event aims to co-create and co-construct creative tourism in the region, with the participation of artists and local tourism businesses.
The Îles de la Madeleine are not the only CreativeTourismDestination© in Quebec – Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, an hour away from the islands, on the bed of the Saint-Laurent river, its Creative Village offers a large panel of cultural creative activities.

By betting on this form of tourism and its human and creative dimensions, Quebec is becoming one of the most popular destinations worldwide for the new generation of tourists, who look for authentic, unique, and transforming experiences.
