Figs are a very abundant fruit in the Algarve hills. Its versatility results, throughout centuries, in a frequent use in local gastronomy, mainly in regional pastry. In this experience, the participant will have the opportunity to know a typical fruit from the Mediterranean, the way as, in the Algarve, it is dried and as it meets so harmoniously with the sweet and popular almond. Run by a certified professional from the “Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Algarve” – Tourism School of the Algarve-, Ana Figueiras, this experience will allow participants to know typical food from the Mediterranean diet, its transformation, conservation and confection. At the end, all participants may take a bag of dried figs produced in the activity.
