With the purpose of supporting and promoting traditional arts and crafts, the Municipality of Loulé, through the project Loulé Criativo, started in the past weekend an “Empreita” Course (traditional basketry), which will take place between October 10 and November 14.
The course, with a duration of 42 hours, consisting of 6 modules, aims to provide participants with knowledge that allows them to master the raw material – Palm Leave, the processes associated with it, as well as to execute various pieces on empreita, using various techniques.
The modules will be taught by the craftswomen that integrate the collective of Casa da Empreita, in sessions with 7 hours of duration, and the training will take place at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé, headquarters of the Loulé Criativo project.
The course is intended for those over 18 years of age with an interest in learning and developing the technique of the empreita, being a factor of appreciation in the selection of participants the interest in continuing the activity, as well as the availability to integrate Casa da Empreita (Loulé Criativo Workshops Network). +INFO
