Creative Tourism in Minas Gerais (Brazil)

The state of Minas Gerais (Brazil) has  iniciated a serie of discussions related to the creative tourism. To inaugurate this new cycle, Sistema Fecomércio MG, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Minas Gerais,  invited the director of the Creative Tourism Network®, Caroline Couret to participate in a program of debates and presentations about this topic, held in Belo Horizonte.

The cycle of debates closed with a serie of conferences scheduled within the week Semana do Turismo do Sistema Fecomércio MG,  in which took part experts such as Marina Simião, Superintendent of Gastronomy of SETES, Luiz Fernando Moraes,  Minister of Tourism of Porto Alegre, and Director of Porto Alegre Creative Tourism,  Ana Carla Fonseca, creative economy expert, and Enrique Avogadro, Creative Economy Sub Secretary of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Hans Aichinger, responsible for Senac gastronomy area; Bernardo Roca Rey, president of Apega; and Ivo Faria, expert gastronomy chef, among others.

The Art of Food: Creativity, Diversity and Sustainability 

17-19 November 2014

The Creative Tourism Network® will take part in this event organized by IGCAT

Together with leading organisations from Europe and Asia, IGCAT is convening a first meeting of experts to discuss culture, arts, food and creative tourism policies. The meeting will look at issues such as collective responsibility, preserving intangible heritage and supporting creative industries. The meeting is by invitation only, as it is expected to deepen conversations by facilitating dialogue between a range of sector experts from tourism, agriculture, culture and the arts. It will also serve as a starting point to develop projects and future funding applications. CANADIAN CREATIVE VILLAGE

Last September 26th, the locality of  Saint-Jean-Port-Joli  (Québec) presented the visual identity of its creative project and revealed some of the activities which will be part of their creative tourism offers, as an introduction to the program to be launched in 2015. 

It deals with the first municipality in Canada and the second in North America to carry the colors of creative tourism and we are proud to welcome them as Creative Friendly Destination.

This project, which was born under the guidance of the International Symposium on Mediation and Creativity in Tourism and Heritage organized by the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the University of Laval (IPAC), is now a reality, headed by the Municipality of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli !

A great adventure to be followed! ... under the sign of the cultural exchange, authenticity and creative experiences!
