The Empordanet joins the network!

Last Friday 24 March, The Empordanet (Catalonia) was nominated "Creative Friendly Destination" by the  Creative Tourism Network®.

Under the name "Visit Empordanet", the municipalities of  la Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells i Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà i Ullastret and have created a program of creative tourism as part of their strategic plan for the local economic development, in order to make more visible the tourist offer linking tourism and crafts, within the international markets. And no doubt that the Empordanet has all the ingredients to attract creative tourists from all over the world.

Salvador de Bahia,

creative tourism destination

The potential of Salvador de Bahia to attract the creative tourists doesn't need t be demonstrated!

Whether it deals with learning brazilian percussions or dance, participating in a Bahian cooking class, making a writing retreat, an art residenncy or just feeling inspired by its creative atmosphere, the city has always been a place-to-be for the most arty travellers!

It is thus natural that Salvador de Bahia and the Creative Tourism Network® collaborate to generate sinergies from the creative tourism. This project was born wihin the BTL fair in Lisboa,with Mrs. Regina Ahmed, director of Bahiatursa.

 Master in Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development

As every year, we had the pleasure to conduct a workshop on creative tourism within the Master in Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development , a program organized by the University of Barcelona, the University of Torino and the International Formation Center of the OIT, in collaboration with UNESCO’s Center of World Heritage; both organizations are part of the United Nations.

We seize the opportunity to congratulate these young professionals from all over the world for the brilliant projects they designed and presented within the session!

Conference on Creative Tourism

 The Creative Tourism Network® participated, together with members and partners from Loulé, Austria and  Galicia at the Seminar on Creative Tourism organized last March 22d by the professor Carlos Fernandes, from the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo and the city of Esposende (Portugal).

A great opportunity to reflect on the relevance of the creative tourism as a new tourist offer for Portugal.

 BTL - Lisboa

Last March 15th-18th, we promoted our member's destinations and creative offers within the at the BTL - International Tourist Fair in Lisbon, though a tight schedule of B2B meetings and press campaign.  

In addition ot it, new members will join the network in brief!

The conference, organized within the program CREATOUR, aims to bring together leading creative tourism researchers with creative tourism bodies and practitioners to outline “the state of the art” – the main lines of research and key issues in both the research and practice of creative tourism.
