Pioneering training fosters the Apennines innovative tourism development

The CreativeTourismNetwork® (CTN) had the honor to collaborate with the University of Modena (Italy), within the frame of the training Experiential tourism in the Apennines, organized by the Higher Education and Innovation School for the Sustainable Development of the Apennines – (Scuola di Alta Formazione e Innovazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile dell’Appennino).
CTN’s director, Caroline Couret, delivered a workshop on creative tourism in Italian, to the students and young professionals participating in this course focused on innovative forms of tourism – experiential, creative, and sustainable – to be developed in and for the Apennine area.

The diversity of the participants’ backgrounds made the session very interactive and fruitful. Creative tourism could indeed contribute to enhancing the Apennine areas’ attractiveness for the new generations of travelers, eager to discover the intangible heritage through authentic experiences to be lived with the locals.

The relevance of this course is precisely its combination of theoretical insights, technical visits, and the design, by the participants, of their own pilot project, as part of the innovative development of the tourism sector in the Apennine region.

This pioneering course provides this way, specific professional skills that are indispensable to build partnerships according to the conditions of the territories, as well as to meet the increasing demand for experiential tourism.
Such a training program will allow operators to structure and promote an innovative offer with high creative content to a wider target, both national and international.

The projects will be presented on October 22d.

Our congratulations to the organizers and participants!
