La conferència sobre turisme creatiu organitzada pel Creative Tourism Network® en el marc del World Travel Market a Londres, va reunir a centenars de professionals interessats en aquesta nova tendència turística.
Van poder conèixer les oportunitats i els reptes que brinda aquest nou turisme mitjançant els casos pràctics exposats per la directora del CTN, Caroline Couret, així com gràcies a les intervencions de tres representants de destinacions dels membres de la xarxa: el Sr. Vincent Torres Guasch , President del Consell Insular d’Eivissa, Alberto Peruzzini, director de Toscana Promozione Turistica, i la Sra. Carita Sants, responsable de Loulé Criativo (Portugal).
Els ponents van insistir que el turisme creatiu no només ofereix noves oportunitats en termes de demanda turística, sinó que també representa una eina de governança i desenvolupament territorial per a les destinacions.
En el marc de la conferència i paral·lelament a ella, l’CTN també va promoure totes les destinacions de la xarxa que aposten per aquest nou turisme.
A més, els Creative Tourism Awards – Premis de Turisme Creatiu 2016 – van ser atribuïts en aquesta edició del WTM, a:

That the creative tourism represents the new paradigm of the tourist sector means new opportunities but also new challenges for stakeholders willing to join this emergent market.
Conceptualized in the early 2000’s by the professors Greg Richards and Crispin Raymond, this tourist concept had a sprawling and fast growing evolution, until converting itself into a new way of travelling. This session will offer the opportunity to make an update of this evolutive market, aimed to entrepreneurs, destinations marketers and public policy makers from all over the world.
